For the love of fuck.

We are all lost
People fancy faith over reason
Lies are tied up with pretty, little ribbons
Bloodlust is a common acceptance
And the number of masks people hide behind is growing
Everybody wants to be someone else

I’m a part of a well medicated society
Exposed to violent crimes all over the TV
I’m only in my twenties
And I’ve searched for a swan song to exit on
It takes a fucked up mind to think about dying
It takes a fucked up mind to think about dying already

I wish people cared more about the world
than who they think created it.

Fuck the world; let me be, who I want to be
I may have trouble tripping over my own feet
but let me be, who I want to be.

I have wanted to write song like this for a while now. Something a little political. The people of earth get bombarded with horrible crimes all over the news. Medication seems to be the only answer in this day and age. People don't give a fuck. Everyone is led astray and lied to constantly. Politicians play games and don't implement the policies they promised, instead they ruin a lot of things and turn the country upside down.
The premise of this song is really simple. That a person is just force fed all this bullshit to the point where they lose all sense of self. I am this person. And people use religion as the scapegoat. If something goes wrong, they turn to 'god' and beg for forgiveness or whatever. As a society we are told what to wear, where to eat, what car to drive, and to remain on high alert due to a dumb as fuck, fucking cult of dickheads who think killing people will give them eternal salvation. Seriously what the fuck is wrong with people? Blood has been spilled for far to long because of religion.
I am starting to ramble on now, but I don't care.
It annoys me that people don't think for themselves. The media just paints this picture that the world is a dangerous place, when really there is more good than evil. The earth is a beautiful place, people just need to open their jaded, little eyes and open their fucking ears.

Skittles

I just posted a song to my tumblr which brought up a topic I constantly think about and one which I watch with curious eyes.
You see, I grew up listening to punk rock music. Bands such as, NOFX, Propagandhi, Good Riddance, No Use For A Name and Lagwagon, just to name a few. When my mum first heard what I was listening to at the age of 13 she fucking hated it. I would make copies of CD's because she would constantly take them off me because she thought the songs were inappropriate for a young kid to be listening to.
As I got older and exposed myself to other kinds of music I started to notice that every band that was coming out was just copying what previous bands had done. I'm talking about the whole sing/scream repeat box, and a breakdown added just because kids are stoked on that shit and are guaranteed a fan.
I think Fat Mike (singer and bass player for NOFX) is a really smart dude. I think he actually went to Uni to study social behaviours or something like that, so obviously the dude knows what he's talking about.
I listen back to the song 'The Separation Of Church and Skate', a song by NOFX, and it's a song that speaks the truth. I agree with it 100%, and being a fan of a genre of music that isn't supposed to be listened to by the faint hearted, I can see why Mike is so pissed off.
Everything sounds like a million dollars now. No one really has to sing. They can be the worst singer in the world, but a little click of a button on a computer, they sound fucking perfect. The drums sound like they are being played by a robot, just flawless. Everything is disneyfied, and is just so skittles now. It's got to be perfect, no fuck ups allowed.
Music doesn't need to sound like a million dollars, it just needs soul. Music now seems 'soul-less'. Whenever I hear All Time Low's new stuff, I just can't stand it. It's so generic, it's so soul-less, it's overproduced. They had something really good going, but then they had a million fucking people get inside their heads and fucked it up. My mum was showing me her record collection one day, and she put on a Cure record. Recorded back in the 80's. It was raw and full of emotion. It sounded amazing. You can tell when something is pure. I'm only using All Time Low as an example, but you hear their songs and he is singing about spilling his beer and going to a party. Who gives a fuck dude. Sing about something real. Sing about something people can relate to. Who cares if the 8 year old kids don't like you singing about how you are struggling with an addiction or struggling with depression, whatever. Write something real.
That's why this NOFX song stires everything up inside me. The type of music I grew up with is so skittles. 8 year old kids are asking their parents to take them to a Pennywise show. I saw Millencolin and Pennywise a few months back and their were these kids there, they were probably about 10 and their parents were there. While you have Fletcher from Pennywise telling everyone that punk rock is music for the people that are pissed off, and hate the fucking world. Every second word was fuck. It pissed me off so bad.
I will finish now.
Punk Rock isn't supposed to safe and consumed by the masses. It's a confronting form of music. Kids beware.

Influences

I, like every other human being, have a shit load of people that influence me. One of these people is Keith Buckley; the vocalist for the bands Every Time I Die and The Damned Things.
I actually met Keith after a show in Melbourne late last year.
He is a super nice dude, and I made a point to myself to not get weak at the knees and blabber on about how much I love him and the band. I just wanted to say hi, and just have a normal conversation. That's what I did. We talked about every thing. We spoke for about 20 minutes. He actually said to me that is was good to have a proper conversation with a fan, instead of taking a photo, and sign something and watch them walk off. While I did get a photo with him it was the conversation that I will always remember.
I am a huge fan of words. I love how they can rip you apart. How they can fix you. How they can make you think and feel about anything. I love how you can paint a picture for the listener/reader. Keith, is my favorite lyricist. He is a very smart person, and is very poetic I guess you can call it, with his lyrics. I like real things. I fucking hate bands and other musical performers that hire people to write their music and lyrics for them. That's why I love Taylor Swift, because she writes her own music and lyrics. I have zero respect for musicians who have other people do the writing for them. To me that just defeats the purpose of being an artist. You're supposed to express your own feelings through your work. Sometimes I feel like that sense of artistry is lost. It has become more for the pay check and fame, instead of, working your arse off, and writing something that has true meaning to you.

I think I'll finish my rant off here.
May the force be with you.

An Introduction

Hey dudes. I completely forgot I had one of these blogger things. Tumblr, World of Warcraft and Call of Duty take up bulk of my time these days.
I sort of need a place to vent my frustrations and observations, and this is going to be the place.
Get ready, because you will be reading the most pointless things in the world.
